Horse racing at it’s best and I will be enjoying all that the Kentucky Derby has to offer.
Sailing an Olympic campaign for the 2016 Games in Rio takes up a ton of time. It is typical to have 80-90 hour weeks filled with sailing, training, gym workouts and meeting with advisers, sponsors and coaches. It is just what is required when you are working to make it to the top and to win Olympic Gold. But this weekend I am taking a short break to head North to learn about racing of a different sort at the Kentucky Derby.
Horse racing isn’t something that I have ever experienced before, spending so much time on the water tends to take time away from going to racetracks and such but I am looking forward to experiencing the excitement of the races and of all the events and parties that I have the privilege of attending. It is also going to be great to meet many of my fans and supporters while in Kentucky at the Kentucky Derby and just taking some time away from my typical day to day activities.
I am also looking forward to spending time with friends and getting back to what I have missed from being over absorbed in school and training. All in all, it is going to be a great few days enjoying the festivities and people a the Kentucky Derby! Just wait till you see the pictures of my derby clothes and the events I am attending.
